California TaxesCalifornia Has the Nation’s Highest State Income Tax Rates
Soquel by the Creek

(Cal WatchDog) According to a new PPIC Statewide Survey a record high 60% in California say that one pays more than they feel they should in state and local taxes–just two years ago, 46% held that view.

Today 6 of 10 in California, also have the perception that California ranks above average or near the top in state and local income tax burden per capita.

On the 08 April, I wrote here that ‘California Tax Freedom Day’ is 6 days later (30 April) than it was in 2013 and 10 days later than it was in 2012

Monday, April 14th, 2014

HHS ObamaThe Politics of Ramming It Down Your Throat –Catholic Lisa@Twitter

(FOX News) A recent survey of 148 insurance brokers shows that health insurance premiums are seeing their sharpest price increase perhaps ever and are largely due to changes mandated by ObamaCare.

For the individual insurance market seeing the sharpest increases in prices:

  • Delaware is up 100%
  • New Hampshire 90%
  • Indiana 54%
  • California 53%
  • Connecticut 45%
  • Michigan 36%

For the small group market seeing the sharpest increases in prices:

  • Washington 588%
  • Pennsylvania 66%
  • California 37%
  • Indiana 34%
  • Kentucky 30%

Flashback: Gone are the days when Obama claimed that health insurance premiums for a family would be $2,500 lower by the end of his first term, they were already actually about $3,000 higher according to The Wall Street Journal in January, 2013 a spread of $5,500 per family.

Another Obama broken promise.

Gas Prices Spike to Highest Level in Southern California Since Last Summer, Where’s the Outrage from Democrats?

Saturday, April 12th, 2014

Gas Prices Rise

(CBS Los Angeles) The average price for a gallon of self-serve regular gas has spiked to their highest levels since last Summer. On Thursday, according to Santa Clarita Valley Signal regular unleaded gas prices average $4.07 to $4.29 a gallon.

Flashback: Remember when then candidate for president Senator Barack Obama said that rising gasoline prices were a crisis and the result of George W Bush’s failed energy policies, or when Rep Nancy Pelosi (D-CA)  blasted George Bush for high gas prices and when Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) echoing Pelosi’s comments said that gasoline prices were “the number one issue facing America today.”

Where is the outrage from Democrats today during Obama’s Watch???

ObamaCare we were told was designed to insure the uninsured and not just reinsure the 6.2 Million+ Americans who previously had health insurance but whose policies were canceled because they didn’t meet the federal govt mandates for insurance coverage.

Covered California allegedly 3 Million enrollments are actually quite dismal when put into perspective.

Did the State of Michigan Just Trigger a Constitutional Convention?

Wednesday, April 2nd, 2014

Natl Debt --Cagle CartoonsU.S. Federal Budget Deficit $17.5+ Trillion

(FOX News) Momentum is building behind what would be an unprecedented effort to amend the Constitution and balance the federal budget, in the wake of lawmakers in the State of Michigan, becoming the 34th state to exercise their rights triggering the 2/3 necessary pursuant to Article V of the Constitution of the United States.

In the wake of Michigan’s vote, Rep Duncan Hunter (R-CA) pressed House Speaker John Boehner yesterday to determine whether the states crossed the necessary threshold to begin the process of achieving a balanced budget amendment and Obama, can’t do a damn thing about it.

If 2/3 of the states have indeed called for a constitutional convention, the ball is now in Congress’ court.

The last time a successful amendment was ratified was May 1992 the 27th Amendment on Congressional pay increases.
