(Washington Free Beacon) Four Russian Strategic Bombers triggered U.S. Air Defense systems while conducting practice bombing runs near Alaska this week, meanwhile two of the Russian Bombers, came within 50 miles off the California coastline the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) confirmed today.

Retired Air Force Lt Gen Thomas Mclnerney a former Alaska Commander of NORAD said that he does not remember a case of Russian Strategic Bombers coming that close to the U.S. coast.

“Again we see the Obama Administration through their covert–but overt to (Russian President) Mr Putin, unilateral disarmament, inviting adventurism by the Russians,” Gen Mclnerney said.

“At the height of the Cold War I do not remember them getting this close. Mr Putin had to approve this mission and he is just showing his personal contempt for President Obama after meeting him in Normandy less than a week ago,” Gen Mclnerney said.

Despite a $419,680,325,000+ Deficit, California Democrats Plan to Go on a Spending Spree

California Debt ClockIn August 2012 California’s Debt Per-Person was $10,350 Today, California’s Debt Per-Person is $11,058 and Growing by the Minute

(Sac Bee) As Billions of dollars flow into State of California coffers, the money is burning a hole in the pockets of Democrat lawmakers, who just can’t wait to go on a new spending spree.

Uhm, I have a suggestion–Maybe it would be a good idea to pay down California’s $419,680,325,000+ rapidly expanding deficit, together with making-up for the $31 Billion shortfall discovered following a recent audit and set aside funds to finance ‘Covered California’ $78 Million deficit forecast for next year?

Loss for Teacher’s Unions in California, One Big Step for Public School Students, One Giant Leap for Education

Tuesday, June 10th, 2014

Marcellus McRae, Theodore Boutrous,(Politico) Los Angeles Superior Ct Judge Rolf M Treu on Tuesday, found five California laws governing the hiring and firing of teachers unconstitutional–striking a huge blow to unions and may likely now fuel political movements across the nation to eliminate tenure.

In a blunt well reasoned 16 page opinion Judge Treu, found the statutes providing tenure permits too many grossly incompetent teachers to remain in the classroom, shortchanging their students.

Education reformers, plan to take this fight to other states and are considering similar litigation in Connecticut, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Oregon and elsewhere, hoping that the strong language of Judge Treu’s decision will prompt Democrats elsewhere to reconsider their ties to teacher’s unions.

Today’s decision is definitely a victory for students and taxpayers alike.

(WaPo)  The Dept of Veteran Affairs said today that more than 57,000 new patients have waited more than 90 days for their first appointments and that about 13% of Schedulers indicated they were told to falsify appointment request dates to give the impression that wait times were shorter than they were.

On the 24 May, I wrote here that doctor delays (some as long as eight months) at VA hospitals in the Los Angeles area, forced American Heroes to seek patient care elsewhere.

(LA Times) Rental home costs are going to continue to rise–nearly 78% of Southern California apartment building owners say they plan to hike rents in the next 12 months according to a new survey from real estate broker Marcus & Millichap about 22% plan to increase rents by at least 3%

On the 04 June, I wrote here that over half of Americans reportedly are already struggling to keep their homes and the problem is only going to get worse.

Say Good-Bye to Prop 13 ?

In May, The Sacramento Bee–Capitol Alert reported after decades of wrangling by Democrats (that just can’t seem to confiscate enough of taxpayers money to spend, I digress) during a hearing of the ‘Assembly Revenue and Taxation Committee’ lawmakers agreed on changes to the 1978 law governing reassessments of commercial property when it changes hands, citing one of their old stand-by favorite liberal arguments ‘fairness’ of the tax system, as if voters were not smart enough when Prop 13 passed by a 2 to 1 margin.

Will confiscating more money from commercial/business property owners actually result in more “fairness” that Democrats like to claim or just raise the costs of doing business and make things (such as rental costs) more expensive?

The latter of course, as Forbes correctly points out–Corporations (such as rental property owners) don’t pay taxes they pass on their business costs and expenses to their customers or in this case, to their tenants in the form of higher rents.

Why is it that California voters continue to reelect liberals to Sacramento is anyones guess–Just as, how many licks does it take to get to the ‘Tootsie Roll’ center of a “Tootsie Roll Pop” the world may never know?

(Asian Journal) On Thursday, the California State Senate voted 21-12 to raise the state’s minimum wage to at least $13.00 an hour by 2017 sending it to the Assembly.

Presently, California’s minimum wage stands at $8.00 an hour, pursuant to the Senate bill should it become law according to NBC Los Angeles the state’s minimum wage would rise to $11.00 an hour by 2015, $12.00 by 2016 and $13.00 in 2017–Tipped workers would also make $13.00 an hour.

In June 2012 CATO Institute published an article worth noting: The Negative Effects of Minimum Wage Laws pointing out the business reality that lawmakers choose to ignore:

“There is no ‘free lunch’ when the government mandates a minimum wage. If the government requires that certain workers be paid higher wages, then businesses make adjustments to pay for the added costs, such as reducing hiring, cutting employee work hours, reducing benefits and charging higher prices.

Some policymakers may believe that companies simply absorbs the costs of minimum wage increases through reduced profits but that is rarely the case. Instead, businesses rationally respond to such mandates by cutting employment and making other decisions to maintain their net earnings. These behavioral responses usually offset the positive labor market results that policymakers are hoping for.”

According to California Democrat State Senator Mark Leno’s bill SB 935 after 2017 the state minimum wage would be adjusted annually to keep pace with inflation, no matter what market forces (prices of goods and services, costs of transportation/delivery, recession, business closings, etc) otherwise dictates–the end result…
