(Market Watch) While the Obama Administration grades its housing recovery with a solid B+ foreclosures reached a 3 year high in 2013

States with the highest foreclosure rates in the country in 2013 according to RealtyTrac include:

  • Florida with 3.01% of all housing units with a foreclosure filing;
  • Nevada with 2.16%
  • Illinois 1.89%
  • Maryland 1.57%
  • Ohio 1.53%

Total foreclosure activity in 2013 increased in 10 states compared to 2012  including:

  • Maryland (Up 117%)
  • New Jersey (Up 44%)
  • New York (Up 34%)
  • Connecticut (Up 20%)
  • Washington and Pennsylvania (Up 13%)
