On the 08 December, 2008 Chinese Human Rights Activist Liu XiaoBo was arrested by authorities for “inciting subversion of state power” after he co-authored “Charter 08” a manifesto calling for greater freedom and democracy in China

On the day of his Trial, Liu issued the following statement: I have no enemies, My Final Statement in English here in Chinese

On Christmas Day, Liu was sentenced to 11 years in prison following a very brief two day show trial.
