Areil Castro: “I’m Not a Monster…We Had a Lot of Harmony That Went on in That Home”

(LA Times) Cleveland kidnapper Ariel Castro made a rambling statement today during his sentencing hearing having plead guilty to more than 900 charges ranging from aggravated murder, kidnapping and rape of three young Women for more than a decade held in captivity.

Castro insisted, “I’m not a monster, I’m sick,” and claiming that he and the three young Women that he brutalized led a happy life, “We had a lot of harmony that went on in that home.”

Pursuant to the terms of the plea agreement that Castro and his Attys made with Prosecutors, Judge Michael Russo, sentenced Castro today to life in prison without any possibility of parole.
