Los Angeles to Require Handguns be Locked or Disabled to Protect Children But What About Kids Being Protected From L.A. DCFS?

If-Guns-Kill-People...-Conservative-Women-RockGood Question Councilman Krekorian

(LA Times) Los Angeles City Council voted unanimously Tuesday, to require the city’s gun owners to lock up or disable their handguns at home.

In a PC charged speech, Councilman Paul Krekorian claimed, that more preschoolers are killed with guns annually than police officers.

“Its unacceptable to live in a country where its more dangerous to be a preschooler than a police officer and we can do something about that today,” Krekorian said.

Uhm… what about the 70+ Los Angeles children who passed through the L.A. County Dept of Children and Family Services that have died due to child abuse or neglect?

What’s Krekorian doing to prevent these tragic deaths?

According to The Awl (19 Feb, 2014) the Dept of Child and Family Services (DCFS) refuses to release the case details of child fatalities but a confidential audit on child fatalities from 2010 to 2011 conducted by the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors Children Special Investigation Unit isolated at least 13 children’s deaths resulting from systematic ‘weaknesses’ inside DCFS, Councilman Krekorian.

Has everyone overlooked the fact that much of the dangers to children in Los Angeles may not be guns at all but parents/guardians that abuse children, government that has neglected its duty and the public with such short-term memories that have forgotten about all of the children killed because of bureaucratic malfeasance and Democrat politicians busy grabbing headlines.
