CNN Anchor Chris Cuomo Says Constitution Doesn’t Protect Hate Speech — Try Reading It

CNN Anchor(Reason) CNN Anchor, Attorney, Former Law & Justice Correspondent for ABC News and Brother to NY Gov Andrew Cuomo, Claims that ‘Hate Speech’ Is Not Constitutionally Protected.

Huh??? Cuomo may want to bone up on the 1st Amendment and while he’s at it, review: Snyder v Phelps, Case No. 09-751 U.S. Sp Ct (2011)

“Speech is powerful. It can stir people to action, move them to tears of both joy and sorrow and–as it did here–inflict great pain. On the facts before us, we cannot react to that pain by punishing the speaker. As a nation, we have chosen a different course–to protect even hurtful speech on public issues to insure that we do not stifle public debate.”

Chris Cuomo: May I make a suggestion? Don’t quit your day job.

  • Publishers Note: Cuomo’s definition of what constitutes ‘Hate Speech’ is not necessarily mine.
