Greatest GiftA Holy Day Has Dawned Upon Us, Come and Adore the Lord For Today
a Great Light has Come Upon the Earth -Image: Respect Life LA

Long ago God spoke to our ancestors in many and various ways by the Prophets but in these last days He has spoken to us by a Son whom He appointed heir of all things, through whom He also created the worlds. He is the reflection of God’s glory and the exact imprint of God’s very being and He sustains all things by His powerful word. When He had made purification for sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, having become as much superior to angels as the name He has inherited is more excellent than theirs.

For to which of the angels did God ever say: “You are my Son today, I have begotten you?”

Or again: “I will be His Father and He will be My Son?”

When He brings the first born into the world He says: “Let all God’s angels worship Him.” –Hebrews 1:1-6

May Our Loved Ones Rest In Peace

As some have realized my absence during the last week, I wanted to take this opportunity to share that my Mother went home to be with Jesus on Friday — I am happy that shes in a better place and her days of pain and suffering are over.

“We need not fear death but rather welcome it as the door to heaven
and to the joy of eternal life.” –Pope Francis

It is always a difficult time to say good bye to those whom we have loved but as Christians we know that life is only changed and not ended, death is merely a passage to a new and fuller life, ultimately to the resurrection and eternal union with God.

Thank You all who have expressed their condolences.

May you all find peace and joy in your lives during this Season of Advent and Christmas when we celebrate the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ, who knew when He was born that He was going to die as our sacrifice, defeating sin and death.

“In you O Lord, I take refuge, let me never be put to shame. In your righteousness deliver me and rescue me, incline your ear to me and save me. Be to me a rock of refuge, a strong fortress to save me, for you are my rock and my fortress.

Rescue you me O my God from the hand of the wicked, from the grasp of the unjust and cruel. For you, O Lord are my hope, my trust, O Lord from my youth. Upon you I have leaned from my birth, it was you who took me from my mother’s womb, my praise is continually of you…My mouth is filled with your praise and with your glory all day long.

O God do not be far from me…I will hope continually and will praise you yet more and more. My mouth will tell of your righteous acts, of your deeds of salvation all day long, though their number is past my knowledge. I will come praising the mighty deeds of the Lord God, I will praise your righteousness, yours alone.

O God from my youth you have taught me and I still proclaim your wondrous deeds. So even to old age and grey hairs, O God do not forsake me until I proclaim your might to all the generations to come. Your power and your righteousness O God, reach the high heavens.

You who have done great things O God, who is like you? You who have made me see many troubles and calamities will revive me again, from the depths of the earth you will bring me up again. You will increase my honor and comfort me once again.

I will praise you with the harp, for your faithfulness, O my God. I will sing praises to you with the lyre, O Holy One of Israel. My lips will shout for joy when I sing praises to you, my soul also, which you have rescued. All day long my tongue will talk of your righteous help, for those who tried to do me harm have been put to shame and disgraced.” –Psalm 71:1-6; 8; 12; 14-24

Third Sunday in AdventThird Sunday of Advent Rejoice in the Lord -Image: Franciscan Friars

Surely God is my salvation, I will trust and not be afraid, for the Lord God is my strength and my might, He has become my salvation.

With joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation and you will say in that day:

Give thanks to the Lord, call on His name, make known His deeds among the nations, proclaim that His name is exalted.

Sing praises to the Lord, for He has done gloriously, let this be known in all the earth. Shout aloud and sing for joy, O royal Zion, for great in your midst is the Holy One of Israel. –Isaiah 12:2-6

Our Lady of Guadalupe“Blessed are You, Holy Virgin Mary Deserving all praise.
From you rose the Son of Justice, Christ Our King.”
Image: St. Paul Street Evangelization

Sing and rejoice, O daughter Zion. For lo, I will come and dwell in your midst, says the Lord. Many nations shall join themselves to the Lord on that day and shall be My people and I will dwell in your midst and you shall know that the Lord of hosts sent Me to you. The Lord will inherit Judah as His portion in the Holy land and will again choose Jerusalem.

Be silent all people before the Lord, for He has roused Himself from His Holy dwelling. –Zechariah 2:10-13

  • Mary Visits Elizabeth & Mary’s Song of Praise

In those days Mary set out and went with haste to a Judean town in the hill country where she entered the house of Zechariah and greeted Elizabeth. When Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, the child leaped in her womb and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit and exclaimed with a loud cry:

“Blessed are you among Women and Blessed is the fruit of your womb.”

Why has this happened to me, that the Mother of my Lord comes to me? For as soon as I heard the sound of your greeting, the child in my womb leaped for joy and blessed is she who believed that there would be a fulfillment of what was spoken to her by the Lord.

Mary said: “My soul magnifies the Lord
and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior.” –Luke 1:39-47

Jesus I TrustJesus, Where I Put My Trust -Image Courtesy: Sister Carmen

Thus Says the Lord, Your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel:

“I am the Lord Your God, who teaches you for your own good, who leads you in the way you should go.

O that you had paid attention to My commandments. Then your prosperity would have been like a river and your success like the waves of the sea.

Your offspring would have been like the sand and your descendants like its grains, their name would never be cut off or destroyed from before me.” –Isaiah 48:17-19
